In all hearts
Are hidden things,
Kept from some,
While our heart sings.
Subtle secrets,
Known to few,
Color our lives,
A brighter hue.
Secrets not hurtful,
Secrets of no shame,
Secrets which to some,
Are simply hard to claim.
Subtle Secrets,
None are wrong,
But many scare us,
For they are strong.
What girl tells her friend,
She feels for him more,
When she risks losing everything,
A friendship she does adore?
Subtle secrets,
What more is their to say,
They are with us always,
And seem to stay.
What boy tells his friend,
He likes her more than a little,
When chances are that maybe,
He’ll make their friendship brittle?
Subtle Secrets,
We all know they’re there,
The only question left,
Is should we share?
Should we tell our secrets,
Should we let them go,
And if this is to be,
How do we ever know?
